The Lakehead University Library & Archives Library Plan: Envision the Future was designed to situate and guide the library within the 2018-2023 social, technological, and increasingly collaborative library environment. Recognizing that the themes of the 2018-2023 Library Plan continued to be relevant, in 2024 the Lakehead University Library Librarians’ Council extended the current Library Plan through to 2026. Extending the plan also maintained alignment between the Library and the University’s Strategic and Academic plans. This extension allows us to build a new Library Plan which will incorporate the vision of the next Lakehead University Strategic and Academic Plans. 
 
The six themes of the current library plan and the strategies set out in this plan continue to guide our work, reaffirming our commitment to our role as essential partners to the learning, teaching and research aspirations of Lakehead University.

Lakehead Thunder Bay is located on the traditional lands of the Fort William First Nation, Signatory to the Robinson Superior Treaty of 1850. Lakehead Orillia is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg. The Anishinaabeg include the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Pottawatomi nations, collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy.
