On the Orillia campus, the Education Library is located with the Faculty of Education at Heritage Place, at 1 Colborne Street West in downtown Orillia. The Orillia Education Library supports, via print and online resources, both the undergraduate and graduate programming offered through the Faculty of Education.
The student Commons at Heritage Place has flexible seating for approximately 75 students, including small group tables, couches, and beanbag chairs! Nine PC computers are available, and one Macintosh computer. The library also loans out laptops for student use. Multifunction printer/copiers are available at the Orillia Education Library. Printing funds may be added at the library desk using cash only. Students may also add funds to their printing account using a credit card inside My Info.
The Orillia Education Library has a variety of technology and media equipment available for students. Items include video cameras, microphone kits, tripods, headphones, laptop and cell-phone chargers. As well, the Orillia Education Library has a strong collection of Makerspace devices, such as Dash and Dot, and Sphero.
The Orillia Education Library is home to the Lloyd Dennis archives.
The Orillia Education Library is open to all Lakehead University students, staff, faculty, alumni and other members of the community. For non-Lakehead community members, current identification is required to borrow materials from the Education Library.
