The Harvie Legacy Library is located in the Orsi Family Learning Commons, in Simcoe Hall, on the Orillia campus. Simcoe Hall opened in 2010, as Lakehead in Orillia expanded from the downtown Heritage Place location, which had been established in 2006.

The Harvie Legacy Library includes a seed library, a small musical instrument library, and equipment to support the Media Studies program.

The Orsi Family Learning Commons includes a computer lab, six group study rooms, two individual study rooms, and seating for approximately 200 students. On the 2nd floor of Simcoe Hall is the Alumni Commons, which is a silent study area for students.

The Harvie Legacy Library is open to all Lakehead University students, staff, faculty, alumni and other members of the community. For non-Lakehead community members, current identification is required to borrow materials from the Library.
