About the Education Library

Location

The Education Library is located on the first floor of the Bora Laskin Building. Upon entering the main entrance of the Bora Laskin Building, turn right and proceed down the hall. The Education Library is located at the end of this hallway. Before you visit, check the Education Library website for up to date library hours.

Who May Borrow

The Education Library is open to all Lakehead University students, staff, faculty, alumni and other members of the community. Current identification is required to borrow materials from the Education Library Circulation Desk. Lakehead Students, Faculty and Staff can borrow materials from all campus libraries by presenting their LU Photo ID Card to Library staff. LU users may also request delivery of most materials to any Library location via My Library Account.

Lost and Found

The Education Library Circulation Desk is the main Lost and Found location for the Bora Laskin Building. Check here for any personal items lost in the Bora Laskin Building and remember to deposit items that are found anywhere in the Bora Laskin Building.

Computers

16 new PC computers are available in the Education Library.   These computers connect to the university network and are equipped with Microsoft Office.  

Print/Photocopy/Scan

Print / Photocopying

Multifunction devices are located in both The Chancellor Paterson and Education Libraries and are operated using your LU login. To print, you will need to login to a Library computer. To photocopy, you will need to login to a multifunction device directly. 

The cost of monochrome printing/copying is 8 cents per 8.5 x 11 size page, while colour is 40 cents per 8.5 x 11 size page.

8.5 x 14 size and 11 x 17 size printing/copying are also available at slightly higher rates.

Funds may be added the Circulation Desks in The Chancellor Paterson Library and the Education Library using cash, debit card or credit card.

Students, Faculty and Staff

All computers in the Libraries have printing capabilities. You must be logged in to your "Active Directory (AD)" account in order to print. To photocopy, you will need to log into a multifunction device directly using your Active Directory (AD) account.

Your Active Directory (AD) Username and Password is the same as your current MyEmail/MyInfo Username and Password.

Students, faculty and staff are able to add money to their account at the Circulation Desks in The Chancellor Paterson Library and the Education Library using cash, credit card or debit card.

Visitors

Printing/photocopying for visitors is available using visitor login credentials. Please feel free to ask library staff for assistance. You will need to add money to your temporary visitor login account which may be done at the Circulation Desk. Please note, any unused funds will expire with the login credentials (every Sunday at midnight).

Scanning

All multifunction devices offer students, faculty and staff scan-to-email service free of charge. Visitors are able to scan to a local drive using flatbed scanners located on the main and third floors of the Chancellor Paterson Library.
