Open Textbooks

This week is Open Access Week. The theme this year is “Open in Action”. The theme challenges all of us to reflect on what we are doing to make sure our scholarly work is available to the world, without barriers, costs or restrictions. As a library we support open access by maintaining the Lakehead University Knowledge Commons and supporting other tools, such as the DMP Assistant. As faculty there are many actions that can support open access. One action that can have a direct impact on student success is choosing open educational resources, an open textbook, for example. Here are two places you can start looking for open texts: Open Textbook Library BC OpenCampus For more information visit Faculty Guide to Open Textbooks / OER
